Libraries and Cafes
All our libraries and cafes have returned to normal opening hours and libraries are open in the evening again. You can find all opening hours on the individual library pages of our website.
Story and rhyme times for children and groups and activities for adults are back too. Some will still have restricted numbers, so please ask at your local library for times and booking arrangements.
A click and deliver service for vulnerable customers continues through the Home Library Service.
Please see our Future Libraries page to learn about our plans to develop York’s libraries.
We want everyone to enjoy our libraries and feel confident when using them.
So when you visit us please remember:
- Respect other people’s need for space.
- Protect each other: sanitise your hands and choose to wear a face covering in busy spaces.
- From 30 November 2021 – following the government announcement – you are required to wear a face covering in all our libraries, but masks are not mandatory when using our cafes as they are classed as hospitality venues.
- Please avoid visiting us if you are feeling unwell
Above all, please be kind to each other and our staff.
