Welcome to Haxby and Wigginton Library

Drop-in, browse and borrow – you’re sure of a warm welcome!

You can use a PC. Please use our booking webpage to book a session.  You’ll need your library card number and PIN to log in.  Alternatively just give us a ring to book a session.

If you still love reading, but find it difficult to get to your local library, our Home Library Service offers you the chance to get the books that you love to read delivered straight to your door.

Haxby and Wigginton Library Café – Closure Announcement

After careful consideration, Explore has made the difficult decision to close the café. The final day of trading will be Saturday 29 August 2026.

Despite the dedication of our staff and the valued support of customers, the café has faced ongoing financial challenges for some time, and it has not been possible to achieve a sustainable financial position. Closing the café is necessary to help protect the long-term sustainability of Explore and the wider services we provide.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the café over the years, including our customers, community groups, suppliers and staff.

The Explore Library will remain open and continue to operate as normal. The closure affects the café only and will not impact library services.

We are working closely with any groups or individuals affected by existing bookings and will support them in finding suitable alternative arrangements where possible.

Under 5s Storytime:  Every Wednesday 10.15-10.45am Drop-in for stories and rhymes.

Lego Club: Every Saturday 11am-12pm, drop-in.
