Please note that the mobile library does not operate on bank holidays.
All our libraries and reading cafes will be closed on Wednesday 13 November for our annual staff conference, any books due back on this date will be extended until the following day.
Christmas and New Year opening hours
We will be closed Tuesday 24th December until Wednesday 1st January inclusive. York, Clifton, Acomb and Tang Hall Explore and some of our reading cafes will have limited opening between Christmas and New Year, please see webpages for for more information. The Community Stadium will be open for self service as per the centres opening hours.
Facilities
Our mobile library offers access to a range of Explore services. You can browse, borrow and return books, as well as place and collect reservations. We have a large selection of audio and large print books on board. You can also get your Library and York Cards. We visit each stop every two weeks, covering the villages and outskirts of York. All our libraries are accessible and there is a lift for wheelchair access on our mobile library.
If you would like to have some books personally selected for you then please contact Dean at [email protected] – Just let him know what genres, authors and format (large print, audio, paperback, hardback) you prefer and he will select some titles based on the information you provide. He will then be in touch to arrange the time for you to collect your books and return any that you have out on loan.
