Opening Times

Staffed opening hours are as follows:

Monday 9am to 12.30pm

Tuesday 9am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5pm

Wednesday Closed

Thursday 1.30pm to 5pm

Friday 1.30pm to 5pm

Saturday 10am to 12pm

Outside staffed hours you can borrow and return books using our self-service machines.

Christmas and New Year opening hours

We will be closed Tuesday 24 December until Wednesday 1 January inclusive.  York, Clifton, Acomb and Tang Hall Explore and some of our reading cafes will have limited opening between Christmas and New Year, please see webpages for for more information. The Community Stadium will be open for self service as per the centres opening hours.

Relax with a good book in the cafe run by the Folk Hall
Cafe opening hours: Monday-Friday 9am-3pm and Saturday 9am-1.30pm.

You can use a PC during staffed opening hours. Please use our booking webpage to book a session.  You’ll need your library card number and PIN to log in.  Alternatively just give us a ring to book a session.

If you still love reading. but find it difficult to get to your local library, our Home Library Service offers you the chance to get the books that you love to read delivered straight to your door.

What’s on at New Earswick Library

All activities are free unless otherwise stated.

Under 5s Storytime and Rhymetime: Storytime every Tuesday 11-11.30am drop-in. Rhymetime every Friday 2-2.30pm drop-in.

After School Lego Club: Every Tuesday and Friday 3.30-4.30pm, drop-in.

Craft Group: Every Saturday 10.30am-12pm drop-in.

Crochet Club: Every Tuesday 9am-12pm drop-in.

Reading Groups: Due to popular demand we are taking names for additional reading groups, please contact the library manager for more information.

Getting there

Parking: Public car park to the rear of the building.  Disabled spaces are located adjacent to the building.

Bike racks available outside the building.

Buses:  1, 13, 14 and 20  stop outside the Folk Hall;  5  stops at the Huntington end of the Link Road
